On the Road Again: Next Stop, Berlin (Eventually)

Published by Leave your thoughts

I’m heading out to Europe and taking a small side trip to get there. The first part of my itinerary is:

PDX-LAX-NRT-HKG-JNB-DOH-TXL

If someone has hurt you, it doesn’t have to be magically okay. It will probably continue to hurt for a while. If you’ve hurt someone else, you should do everything you can to make it right—but you also shouldn’t expect it to be completely fixed.

Don’t Join the Popularity Contest: Make It Happen Yourself

Many times a day, I hear from someone who asks for help promoting a cause. They have something they're working on and want to share it with me—totally fine. A Few Things In the Mix

Somewhere in my journey I learned an important lesson: whatever your location, you can choose to be at peace or you can choose to be anxious. I remember shivering in a tent in Zimbabwe, feeling miserable yet still excited about the adventure. I was on my own in a new part of the world, and I felt like a conquering (though cold) warrior.

It's not that you're too busy, or that you're doing too much. You're known for taking on challenges and doing the impossible. You know your metrics. You take pride in your deadlines. You've built your name on striving, and you don't like to let people down.

One week ago we kicked off our inaugural event for solopreneurs, Pioneer Nation. Here's a very short recap of how it went.

Pioneer Nation Begins in Portland

For years I've wanted to produce an event more specifically focused on independent entrepreneurs and people who work for themselves. This is it! Tickets are completely sold out and we're already underway. A few photos from our opening party (last night!) are below, and I'll share more news about the event next week.
