“Making things we love to use” was the driving force for the three friends who created the Confidant Journal. The company name, Baron Fig, represents the combination of discipline and impulse it takes to create, and these guys know how to create a great notebook!
They also plant a tree for every notebook sold, with 17,658 trees planted to date in 30+ countries.
What you need to know:
- These notebooks were designed to open flat. Imagine – using the whole page!
- You can choose your journal to come with blank, ruled, or dot grid pages
- This giveaway is available to readers worldwide. Anyone can win!
- Our cats and biased judges will pick someone on Sunday night at 6pm PST

All my journals open flat — but not by choice. My cats squish them for me, flopping atop my work. Having a meant-to-open-flat journal would be a shock for the kitties, but fun for me!

Cats: Yesterday I was wasting time on Pintrest and saw a dog holding a sign that read “I EAT MY OWN POOP.” I was going to post it here so I went back to Pinterest and, in the SEARCH field, I entered the words “I EAT MY OWN POOP.” It pulled up about thirty pictures of dogs, one bird and one rodent all of whom want the world to know that THEY EAT THEIR OWN POOP. A notebook that’s a joy to use is the best thing to have when you want to write more… and this one seems like it qualifies easily as being a joy to use. It would certainly help me maintain the daily writing habit I’ve recently established!
