Giveaway: Win a “Boarding Tote Bag”
Friday is giveaway day. Comment to win!
Win a Boarding tote from Airportag, an online business started by “Captain Greg”—a flight lover and designer who got creative with the world of airport codes and made a fun shop.
You can find a ton of airports represented on totes, coffee mugs, and pillows over at Airporttag. Naturally, I have a lot of favorite airports, so it would be hard for me to choose a single one… but on the tote bag page, I especially like the styles of MEX, BKK, LHR, and LAX.
Those are pretty basic, though—maybe you prefer a lesser-known one?
What you need to know:
- This bag is 16″x16″ and made with durable, lightweight, poly poplin fabric
- Hand sewn in America, double stitched, and printed on both sides
- This giveaway is available to readers worldwide
- Our cats and biased judges will pick someone on Sunday night at 6pm PST
Enter this week’s giveaway by posting a comment with your favorite airport (and its three-letter code, of course). Check back on Sunday night and we’ll announce the winner!

UPDATE Congrats to Melalou Ward, selected by cats and a random number generator to win the Boarding Tote! Everyone else, thanks for entering. We’ll have another giveaway soon.

JFK Airport in New York City
I must say, I LOVE HKG only because of its sheer size and varieties of food available.
HKG in Hong Kong!
LDH
Definitely Changi at Singapore (SIN) after flying first class with Singapore Airline.
GRU. The older terminals are simply horrendous, but those 3 letters mean home. <3
Can’t go wrong with AUS, for a US airport they have pretty good food!
SIN, Singapore, where you don’t feel like a second-class citizen even when you don’t have access to a premium lounge. And the amount of amenities makes it a very “livable” space.
LIS!!
def not my fav airport (ugh), but have to stay loyal to ny and JFK!
My favorite airport is Denver (DEN). It generally means I have a straight shot (and less travel time) to get back home!

I haven’t been there yet, but PDX. You have to admit the fact that it used to be a Delta TPAC hub in the 1990s (with MD11’s!!!!) , the PDX Carpet (which you can buy now, and has inspired a beer), and the fact that it serves Portland, one of my favorite cities in the USA.
Number two is MGA, love Nicaragua
Hey Chris and Team,
PRG | Prague, Czech Republic. What a brilliant concept to reposition airport codes as design elements and teaching tools. Particularly noticeable on the PRG bag is the clever use of elements from the liveries of CSA Czech Airlines “OK Jet” and subsequent livery. As a lifelong fan of flight I would feel honored if you bestowed me with this bag. Gonna go share this on Twitter now.
Keep soaring,
Westley
I like Singapore a lot internationally. Over the past year, I have been spending more time at MSP for work and am really liking it. Clean look, and for it’s size, lots of options food and shops. Friendly atmosphere. Not a pain to hang out if needed.
Singapore’s Changi Airport (SIN) is the nicest one I’ve ever seen.
SYD is mine. I’ve only been there once, and I almost forgot I was in an airport! So many different things to see.
PDX – it’s home base! Good local food and unique shops.
Partial to ORD being from Chicago, but the MDW one looks better. 🙂
My favorite airport is definitely JFK in New York – it’s always home for me, no matter where else I travel or set up residence for a while. I will admit, though, to absolutely loving the SEA and MDW tote bags better than JFK’s =)
KEF – Keflavík International Airport in Reykjavík, Iceland. It’s tiny, but I loved it. I merely went into a shop to buy some Icelandic chocolate, and the cashier was so friendly – even gave me a ‘Visit Iceland’ CD for free, which I really enjoyed!
LHR Heathrow is my favorite, because it’s close to London, my favorite city in the world!
My favorite airport is AUS, just because it’s in the city that I absolutely LOVE.
By the way, I pinned your giveaway to my group board on Pinterest. Please let me know if you want to join to post future giveaways!

HNL only because of where it is!!!
MCO is high on my list simply for meaning winter sun and theme parks. LBA comes a close second for being my home airport, small but with everything you need – including a priority pass lounge and decent connections to the BA and KLM hubs of LHR and AMS.
YVR all the way! I feel so good when I come home and see “my” airport.
Have to keep it here in NYC – JFK
OPO in Porto
1- there are very fancy lamps
2- having 4 minutes left to the flight to Mallorca, did a Sprint through the security check-in (thanks to the guards;) and towards the gate (the heart was pumping during all the flight)
I will never forget this journey and the time on Mallorca was one of the best in my life.
My favorite is Bush Intercontinental in Houston because I’ve loved it since I was a kid and it’s where I made my first international trip from and it will always be home. IAH all the way.
I know it’s small but I love my hometown Albany, NY ALB airport. It feels homey with therapy dogs and museum quality installations.
I love LHR! 🙂
SDQ because its my motherlands airport =]
cool !
YVR
ABQ or BKK because either one means I’m home. PDX and AUS are also favorites because either one means I’m about to have a LOT of fun with old friends.
IAH-United hub (George Bush Intercontinental) and our last stop out and first stop in the USA from an international trip.
AMS is the best airport that I continually fly to. I never have to worry about trekking far to catch a flight (looking at you CDG, MSP!) So much to do and see! Plane spotting galore and there is a grocery store for last minute bites if lounge access isn’t available and the trains to anywhere are in the basement! Did I mention children’s playplace and a mini Rijksmuseum all free!!
Haven’t traveled much in the western hemisphere so my favorite this side has to be Dubai (DXB)
For anyone who have ever visited YVR is an amazing airport for both design and functionality. Being the west coast hub for a small city helps too. 🙂
YVR because it means I’m either arriving home or going on an adventure! HKG is pretty cool too for all its yummy food and variety of things to do.
CDG Charles de Gaulle – know it by heart! And I absolutely love that even with an hour between the flights it is impossible to miss the next plane.
Nice! Wish to grab it.
I’ve got to go with my tiny local airport in the UK – it might have officially changed its name to Durham Tees Valley as Durham is better known, but to us MME will always be Teesside Airport. Have some great memories of travelling from there on holiday when I was younger. Keflavik in Iceland has to come a close second thanks to gorgeous architecture, including inspirational quotes printed on the windows. KEF is the gateway to a stunning country!
Jamaica – KIN – Norman Manley Airport. These bags are beautiful and I would love to have one. They are a great idea. Best of luck to everyone.
MCO for getting to see rockets launch into space! Fortunately Orlando has enough other reasons to visit that they have a halfway decent clue to getting people around in a reasonable manner.
I love the Detroit (DTW) airport! The fountain in the center is so fun to watch!
KEF! A small airport with great design (although the food options are minimal). Love it!
I guess it has to be our small local airport CIU. Free parking and provides a connection to Detroit DTW which connects to the world!
BKK – Bangkok! Because that’s the place where I first started to feel too happy to be homesick 😉
WLG my original home base. Extra points for the enormous Lord of the Rings character installations
AMS – Schiphol
Rome (FCO) – can’t wait to go back!
Mi favorito es MEX
YHZ in Halifax …. because it means I’m headed home for a bit. (but besides that it’s kind of a crappy international airport)
I’ve only went a few places but LGW in the UK was the most interesting to me.
ABQ. 5 minutes from home. Small, quaint, connections decent.
Love the style of AMS 🙂
THR! Not that the Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran is particularly amazing, but it means I’m setting foot in Iran and, really, I can’t wait until I can go again (for the third time). Also, it’s pretty awesome to witness and feel the excitement of all the people there who are about to be, or have just been, reunited with a family member they probably haven’t seen in a very long time. I love it!
MCO
I would pick Minneapolis-St Paul, MSP. I like the style and color, and it is my home town. Thanks for the giveaway..
O’Hare has the best food! ORD
I wish I had more airports to make a real assessment so Ill pick the one I am most familiar with SAN
BOM in Mumbai. It means I’m back home where it’s always summer! Love the new airport especially the artwork.
SFO because of the yoga room!
HKG
MRU — included? 😉
HBT…..Hobart Airport in Tasmania. Because the people at the arse-end of the World, surprisingly happen to be rather nice there!
CMB in srilanka
MSP – It either means I’m almost home or, if I’m leaving again, at least there’s Chik-Fil-A…unless it’s a Sunday. Blast it routing through there on a Sunday when Chik-Fil-A is closed!
SIN (Singapore Changi Airport <3 )
It's so beautiful and feels so fresh and welcoming 🙂
I have not been to many airports actually, but my favorite so far has to be MAN – Manchester airport in the UK! Though I quite like BRS Bristol, too – it’s small, but cozy and friendly and really comfy.
SIN Singapore ! I even try to find flights with the longest transfer time there, ha ha it’s a destination in itself. (But for the tote design GIG is my favorite, although many of them are gorgeous)
Great memory flying over the coast and landing in the tiny Santa Barbara airport: SBA.
BCN Barcelona El Prat
MAD – Madrid Barajas
LHR Heathrow 🙂
I love Dallas Fort Worth Airport!
JFK! Especially Terminal 5.
Share this area is very useful .
PRG
My favorite airport is Philadelphia aka PHL – because it provides me with income (I work there).
MAD, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, Spain 😉
YYZ Toronto airport, is a nice clean facility. Staff is helpful. For me it’s great as I live close enough for folks to pick me up at the airport so I don’t have 2 bring my car.
FLL – Fort Lauderdale.
FLO Florence SC
JKC – back to Kennedy New York!
sorry (typo – weird) JFK
My all time favorite IATA airport code is MCO … Orlando Florida!!! Yeah Baby!!! Landing there is always the start of two magical weeks of Disney and Universal Studios Adventures!!! Its just way kewl to ride the monorail at the airport to get to your car rental, and more monorail into Disney!
Yes please
Proud VanCity girl here! I have to say YVR (Vancouver International Airport), because I love all the amazing aboriginal art, and the beautiful design. Plus, when I get there, it means I’m either heading out on a lovely holiday, or coming home to my family and friends from a lovely holiday. Either way, good 🙂
I’ve got to say that SIN (SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT) is the best. Where else can you find an airport where its almost similar to a satellite town, meaning with different type of services offered, from food, shopping, well being, excellent transportation system.. Lovely people and most importantly, the home of Singapore Airlines. Certainly, a great way to fly, from and to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN).
ORF is my favorite airport. It’s not glamorous but I grew up in Norfolk 🙂
STL is my favorite.
AKL Auckland International Airport, New Zealand
My fave airport is LAS in vegas! Only because I go there alot.
I like YVR! VAncouver!
I like Kota Kinabalu International Airport in Sabah Code: BKI
YVR Vancouver is kept fairly clean and love the shops
Yet Vancouver is kept fairly clean and I love the shops
LHR – London Heathrow Airport 🙂
My favorite is CLT
goa airport / mumbai
thanks
tumblemumbo at gmail.com
YWG in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada…yes a lesser known one for sure!!!!
I would say ATL because it is great for people watching while you wait for your flight!
IPC – love the open air and rustic feel. And easy to get up close to those LAN heavies
ATL, of course. It’s my hometown!!
I dont fly very often and tghe airports i got to are small to say the least so my favorite would have to be Edmonton International Airport YEG.
AKL in New Zealand – easy to navigate, great shops and places to eat and the staff are amazing 🙂
I like Newark Airport (EWR) because it’s close to where I live, and super easy and quick to get through security!
YUL! 😀
SDF, in Louisville-my hometown!
It’s small, but efficient, friendly staff , it’s only a 15 minute drive for me for to door and it’s been the beginning of many adventures!
Regina, Sk. YQR
MAD! Terminal 4 @ Madrid’s international airport is just spectacular. When first setting sight on the ceiling my jaw dropped, I was in awe. Madrid is a special city, but the arriving at that airport actually created the feeling that I had truly arrived somewhere special.
BCN – Barcelona 🙂
I like Cluj-Napoca Airport – Romania
HKG
My favorite airport is OAK in Oakland, CA. It’s easy to get to, cheaper than SFO, and has great food and drink spots!
